Hello to my fabulous Tuesday Class!

I had so much fun meeting my spring class!  I am so happy to have new students Lily and  Fiona!!  We are sure you will have fun here with the rest of us….

Our fabric bag  textile project of turned out so well – Lily I loved your peace sign made of buttons!

To the rest of the girls – the fashions using the felting techniques, hangers and sheer roses look fabulous.

Our Painting this week is whimsical and fun…I love that you each picked out your own color pallete and are expressing yourself though this work.  Next week we will finish it up with some glitter and airy brush strokes.  Have a great week and a fabulous holiday weekend!

Don’t forget to write me here!

See you on Tuesday!

Our Winter Young Artist Exhibition!

25 03 2009

Can you all believe that our winter sessions are complete?  The classes went so fast and each of you made some absolutely amazing paintings and projects…now it is time to show off all your wonderful art work!

The Young Artist Exhibition will be held Thursday evening March 26th from 6 to 7:30 pm.  The show will be held at It’z All About Me! with access to the studio to show your family and friends your creative space.  Students are encouraged to bring 2 pieces of artwork to the show including at least 1 painting.  If you wish, you may drop the artwork off at the shoppe early so we can get it on display for all to see.

Miss Rebecca has heard that there is also an event at school so I am encouraging parents to treat this evening as an open house. You may arrive any time during the evening to discuss your artwork and meet your friends.  If you think you will be arriving later, please drop off the artwork early so all can see it!!

Again, we encourage you to bring your family and friends to this event…it is open to all.  We will be serving beverages and dessert at the show so bring your sweet tooth too!

Can’t wait to see you all!

Miss Rebecca

dscn2166Hello to my Tuesday students!!

I think this week was a great class!

I so enjoyed framing, signing and completing our block print projects with you!!

I also enjoyed discussing your plans for your winter break…Anna, hope you and Mom are enjoying the Grand Cayman! Write to me!

We also completed a beautiful, miniature watercolor project that was fun and you all did a fabulous job. Our bee’s are the best though with the brilliant color and simplicity of the artwork stealing the show.

Summer…it just was not the same without you!

Winter Young Artist Update

9 02 2009

I am so excited to be in the middle of our winter “Young Artist Program“! This session began in early January with a record number of 19 kids!! We expanded the classes to 3 sessions per week and have many returning students from Franklin, Wrentham and Foxboro.

We have completed 2 amazing acrylic paintings so far this semester along with art projects including collages with fabric, watercolor paintings & valentine paper designs for Mom!!

The kids are a buzz with activity over our new “Bee” painting that we will complete this week! There is fabulous color in this example with the students learning and concentrating on their techniques in graduated backgrounds.

Our older group designed & completed their own amazing block print designs last week and learned how to print using speedball inks and a brayer (ink roller). This week we will mount, sign & frame these designs as part of the lesson on how to properly display their custom creations.
We are having a blast here in our creative little world at “It’z All About Me”. Pease feel free to write us a note or drop by the studio and we’ll give you the tour!

Off now to be creative!! You should “bee” too!!
